During the computer transfer of our word-processing files to the word-processing format required by the printer, some symbol characters were incorrectly transcribed.

Page 7. Left half Paragraph 5 and Right half Paragraph 3. Change to: La Coruña

Page 15. Left half 2nd last Paragraph. Change to: NUEVA ESPAÑA

Chapter V. The symbol for ¼ was printed as 3, and the symbol for ½ was printed as 2.
Page 109, Left half, 1st Paragraph. Change sentence to: These rates were expressed in the Philippine currency, reales plata, which was worth more than the Spanish currency, reales vellon.

Page 126, Table XI-1; 1864 line.
Page 138, USA Line. Change from: 0/2/1/2 (s/d column) Change to: 2 / 2½ (2 shillings 2½ pence)

At several places A, @ were printed instead of quote marks, e.g.
Page 153, Table XIII-1. Change from: 172c (Registered Single column) Change to: 17½c

Page 155, Table XIII-2. Change from: C (in Registered Rates) Change to: -, a dash, indicating that no examples are known of this rate and no information is available about the rates.
